Coil Manufacturing for Unconventional Materials
For applications when Stainless Steel, Copper, or Brass will not fit the needs of your project, HBR will work with you in using various unconventional materials to achieve your goals.
We have experience manufacturing coiled products out of a variety of unconventional materials including aluminum, Inconel, PVC coated copper, and more. As experts in coil winding contract manufacturing and a variety of capabilities, we can meet all of your design requirements. We focus on hand wound small coils that range in wire sizes from 2 to 42 AWG and tube sizes from 1/8” to 1-1/4”.
Inconel Coil Winding Contract Manufacturing
Inconel is known for its high quality and its ability to withstand even the toughest conditions. It’s a superalloy, meaning its ideal for extreme pressure and heat environments. Though Inconel is an unconventional material for coil winding, it’s a strong, durable one.
Inconel coils are used for a wide variety of industries, including:
- Automotive
- Electronics
- Gas processing
- Specialty chemicals
- Pharmaceuticals
- Chemical equipment
HBR Industries utilizes Inconel in its coil winding contract manufacturing services, especially for those heavy-duty applications that need superior durability. Our custom coil winding capabilities also include custom coil creation with smaller dimensions than what traditional coils allow.
Aluminum Tube Bending and Coil Winding
For applications requiring maximum ductility, aluminum makes an ideal coil material. Aluminum coils are wound around a hollow cylinder and then treated, depending on your application needs. In addition to aluminum coil winding, we also offer small-diameter aluminum tube bending.
Aluminum Alloy has good forming performance, corrosion resistance, weldability, and medium strength. Because of these characteristics, aluminum coils are often used for:
- Construction
- Instruments
- Lamps
- Electronics
We provide high-quality aluminum coil winding and tube bending services to meet any of your small, fixture-wound coil application needs.
PVC Coated Copper Tubing
PVC coated copper tubing should be used when regular copper tubing won’t withstand the elements of a harsh environment. Useful for a variety of applications, plastic-coated copper tubing can be utilized in industries including fuel, natural gas, oil, water, and other applications where fixture-wound coils are necessary.
Things to Keep in Mind When Submitting Your PVC Coated Copper Project
- When we curve or bend PVC Coated Copper, we don’t recommend small or tight bends because in order to support the copper tube, the PVC Coating must retain it’s integrity. PVC Coating is subject to cracking, but in the past we’ve been able to create large shape coils and large bends.
- If a client needs a coated copper tube with small or tight bends/curves, a powder-coated copper tube must be used.
